The 2015 season has offered a great transformation inthe New York Jets, who are coming on strong for the end of the season and are poised to capture one of the two playoff spots available for wild-card teams in the AFC. One guy who certainly was not rooting for them was Rex Ryan, who was angry about the manner in which he was dismissed from his head-coaching job after last season. Now Ryan has a chance to upset the Jets’ applecart as his Buffalo Bills play host to New York in a game that begins at 1 PM ET on Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY. BetAnySports customers can get reduced juice wagering before the kickoff, and then afterward they can continue with the action, as they challenge the NFL betting odds in real time through the magic of Live Betting Extra.

Ryan did not have to wait very long to find employment; he was hired by the Bills amidst a lot of pomp and circumstance. Buffalo finished 9-7 last season, so hopes were high for a playoff spot. That has not materialized. In fact the Bills have to win this game just to get to the .500 level. They are 7-8 straight-up and 6-8-1 ATS, while the Jets are 10-5, which ties them with the Kansas City Chiefs and puts them one game ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the wild-card chase. They are also 9-6 against the football pointspread.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, who spent three seasons with the Bills, has revived his career with the Jets, working under offensive coordinator Chan Gailey, who was formerly the head coach of Buffalo. Fitzpatrick has been on a hot streak lately, with 1525 passing yards in his last five games, along with 13 touchdowns, as he has been able to tie the franchise record for TD passes in the season with 29.

Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker have combined for 176 receptions and 24 touchdowns. So it is clear that the Jets have a very efficient passing game going. Chris Ivory is second in the AFC with his 989 yards, but he is not necessarily been a hot back in the second half of the season. However, he has the potential to be a punishing runner, and during the playoffs that kind of thing always comes in handy.

What’s interesting about the Buffalo situation is that players seem unhappy with some of the defensive changes Ryan has made. That is understandable, because the Bills had arguably the best stop unit in the league last season, as they worked under coordinator Jim Schwartz. But Schwartz was not retained when Ryan came in, and people like Mario Williams, the All-Pro defensive end, has been very vocal about his dissatisfaction with the defensive calls. BetAnySports patrons know that the Bills have not gotten the same results out of their guys this year, and to have only 20 sacks – last in the league – borders on pitiful.

Meanwhile, the Jets have really gotten the job done in the red zone. Their defense is tops in the league, allowing only 34.3% touchdowns when their opposition gets down there, and the offense has converted 66.7% of the time, which is second-best in the league. This is a team that comes into this contest with a lot of confidence, as they defeated the New England Patriots 26-20 in overtime last week. Their defense has a rough assignment this week, however, as they have to stop the team that has more rushing yards than anyone in the NFL. Shady McCoy will not play due to a knee injury, but the Bills have depth in the backfield, and Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee combined for 169 yards last week in the 16-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
