Raiders vs Dolphins Odds 2018 Week 3 NFL Betting PreviewWell, the Oakland Raiders are off to a rather inauspicious start behind Jon Gruden, who came back to the coaching sidelines after ten years out of that end of the business. Are they desperately looking for answers? Well, let’s just say that they are far from being a complete team right now. So they are off to an 0-2 start, while the Miami Dolphins, who have not necessarily been so incredibly impressive, have won their first two games. These teams will meet up on Sunday at 1 PM ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. And remember that if you are a BetAnySports customer, you can get a great free play bonus, as well as reduced juice, which gives you better odds with which to make your wagers.

Raiders vs Dolphins Odds – CJ’s Take

Derek Carr, upon whom Oakland’s hopes rest, was harassed into three interceptions by the Los Angeles Rams in the opening game, and he and his teammates seemed to be firmly in control last week against the Denver Broncos. But at some point in the second half they simply fell asleep, allowing the Broncos to score 10 points in both the third and fourth quarters and edfe him out for the 20-19 victory. Yes, Carr threw for 288 yards, including 116 to Amari Cooper, but they did not get a well-rounded effort, because the defense allowed the Broncos to convert on half of their 16 third-down opportunities. That’s the kind of thing that has to change.

The Dolphins had a bizarre opening week in which they endured a couple of long weather delays at home before beating the Tennessee Titans, but they did play well, at least in the first half, in turning back the Jets 20-12 in the Meadowlands last weekend. Ryan Tannehill went 17-23 for 168 yards, but mostly, Miami took advantage of a rookie starting quarterback (Sam Darnold), a situation that won’t be present here.

Clearly the Raiders have some assets, and those assets have to produce for them to get a victory in Miami. One of the people Carr is lucky to have is tight end Jared Cook, who was all over the field against the Rams and is averaging 17.6 yards per catch. And Marshawn Lynch has to make some plays out there; he’s only averaging 3.7 yards per carry, and maybe you have to start asking yourself whether or not he is capable of doing better. We can tell you that the Raiders are not exactly doing a good job up front against opposing ground attacks, as they allowed Denver’s rookie combination of Philip Lindsay and Royce Freeman to combine for 135 yards last Sunday. Thus far, Oakland is allowing 5.7 yards per rushing attempt.

Miami has a running back they really think a lot of in Kenyan Drake, and veteran Frank Gore, who Raiders fans know from his many years in the Bay Area, is there to complement him. It is very early right now, so the jury is still out on whether Adam Gase has a playoff contender on his hands. What is potentially dangerous for the Raiders here are the bookend pass rushers for the Dolphins – Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn. But they are known to have one of the best offensive lines in the league when it comes to pass blocking.

We doubt were going to see a “look ahead” situation here, but it is worth mentioning that the Dolphins travel to New England next week to face the Patriots.
