New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills Odds – 2017 Week 1 NFL Betting Preview
It can reasonably be said that the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills are playing for an opportunity to pick the best available quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft. It appears at the present time as if the Jets are trying a little harder at that. Will they try harder on the field Sunday? These two teams meet up at 1 PM ET at New Era Field in Orchard Park, NY, and while CBS is televising the game on a regional basis, BetAnySports customers will have the chance to place wagers in real-time through the magic of Live Betting Ultra.

New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills Odds – A Look at the Jets
The Jets have been in the process of getting rid of a lot of their veteran players, with the latest being defensive end Sheldon Richardson, who was sent off to the Seattle Seahawks. All of this activity has prompted the New York press to label the franchise “tankers,” and indeed, there may be a lot of hope that somebody like USC’s Sam Darnold or UCLA’s Josh Rosen might be available by the time the Jets select in the draft, possibly even first overall, if you believe the “0-16” speculation going on around the Big Apple.
We are not sure it is going to be as bad is that, but this is a team that severely lacks personnel, and they will be using a stopgap at the quarterback position as Josh McCown makes the start behind center. McCown will be with his eighth NFL team, and he was the logical choice when Christian Hackenberg, the second-round draft pick from last season, proved he is not ready for prime time. Bryce Petty was also involved in the quarterback mix, but he suffered an injury. Whoever throws the football for the Jets will have a dearth of wide receivers to work with.
The Jets will be in trouble if they have to turn to their backup; in one of his pre-season starts, Hackenberg threw two interceptions for touchdowns against the New York Giants. Jermaine Kearse was acquired from Seattle in the Sheldon Richardson trade, and he might be the best wide receiver they have, because Brandon Marshall is gone and Quincy Enumwa, last year’s leading receiver, is out for the season with an injury.
New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills Odds – A Look at the Bills
The Bills have traded some veterans as well, including wide receiver Sammy Watkins and cornerback Ron Darby. This has led to tanking questions in Upstate New York, as Sean McDermott, formerly a defensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers, assumes the reins for his first NFL head-coaching gig. McDermott, in effect, replaces Rex Ryan, who made a lot of big promises but ultimately, in the evaluation of management, did not deliver. Tyrod Taylor was almost reluctantly brought back for another season at quarterback, but Buffalo questions whether he is a long-term answer for them.
Buffalo is not explosive at the wide receiver position, and Jordan Matthews, who was one of the people they acquired in a trade during the pre-season, suffered through some injuries. This will be a team that relies heavily on the run anyway, and that kind of echoes the philosophy of Anthony Lynn, who was the offensive coordinator, and later interim head coach, before being hired by the Los Angeles Chargers. LeSean McCoy is an explosive element to have, as evidenced by his 5.4-yard average and 13 touchdowns, and if McDermott was impressed by what he saw from Cam Newton while he was in Carolina, will let Taylor do some running as well. The quarterback had 580 yards on the ground last season. However, as of this writing, Taylor was just cleared out of the concussion protocol,so you wonder how much contact they really want him to have.
