Betting Preview of Rockets vs Warriors Game 5
In the NBA odds that have been established on this game by the people at BetAnySports, Golden State lays double digits:
Golden State Warriors -10
Houston Rockets +10
Over 216 points -110
Under 216 points -110
Well, the Houston Rockets have indeed lived to play another day. But will there be any days beyond this? Coming back from a 3-1 deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers was one thing; now, after losing three games in a row to the Golden State Warriors, they need to take the games one at a time and do something no NBA club has ever accomplished. And they will have to do most of it in a building where Golden State has tasted defeat only three times all season long, including the playoffs. Game 5 is set to begin at 9 PM ET at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, and BetAnySports customers can continue to engage in the action after the opening tip, as they get to wager on the side, totals and various props through the magic of Live Betting Extra.
Game 4 was a rough one for the Warriors, and for a couple of different reasons. For one thing, they gave up 45 points in the first quarter, as Houston tied a playoff record. And then there was the horrible fall taken by the league MVP, Stephon Curry, which put him out of the game for the equivalent of an entire quarter. Of course, it looked much worse than it really was, or at least that is what everyone is being told. As of right now, Curry is on target to make the start, and he will be looking to bounce back from an evening where he shot just 7-18 overall.
The big story for Houston in Game 4, aside from that first-quarter explosion, was the fact that James Harden, who finished as the runner-up to Curry in the Most Valuable Player balloting, was able to rebound from an awful experience in Game 3, when he may just three of his 16 shots, and he simply dominated things with 45 points, including seven out of 11 from beyond the arc. Certainly they will need much more of that if they want any hope of coming away with a series win.
Sunday’s contest was a game where it was “bombs away,” to say the least. BetAnySports patrons witnessed 37 triples, the most ever in a playoff game. And between them, these teams attempted 78 three-pointers. But what was very interesting was what Golden State DIDN’T do. For example, they didn’t get anything out of Andrew Bogut on the inside, the way he had done in the two previous games. Had set the tone early in the second and third games of the series by producing some points, but he went scoreless in almost 21 minutes of play.
Undoubtedly Curry is the most important player on the Warrior team, but if you ask people who have followed this club closely, you will find that Draymond Green might really be the so-called “straw that stirs the drink.” Green had 21 points and 15 rebounds before fouling out on Sunday, and he actually has more assists during this series then does Curry. That is highly unusual for someone who is your power forward, and has also spent some time at the center spot.
