Here are the odds and some NBA Finals Betting Advice from the people at BetAnySports, Golden State is a slight favorite on the road:

    Golden State Warriors -1
    Cleveland Cavaliers +1

    Over 194 points -110
    Under 194 points -110

When you take a look at the rise of the Cleveland Cavaliers through the Eastern Conference playoffs and into this NBA Finals round against the Golden State Warriors, it is very easy to attribute it to the presence of Lebron James, or even on an extended basis, other members of the “Big Three,” including Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Of course, Love had to go down early in the first playoff round against the Boston Celtics with a shoulder injury, and Irving was just recently lost for the rest of this series with a fractured kneecap. So one can point to Lebron as “the man.” Yes, that is accurate to a considerable extent, but defense is a team effort, and as BetAnySports customers are well aware, Cleveland has been a nearly dominant team on the defensive end during this post-season.

In fact, the Cavaliers have limited their opponents to 41.3% shooting, which, if it was projected over the entire regular season, would have led the NBA. Their opponents here, the Golden State Warriors, in fact led the league in that stat this year, allowing foes to shoot just 42.8%. Cleveland was, in fact, the eighth WORST defensive team in the NBA, if you used field goal percentage as a barometer, as they permitted opponents to hit 45.6% of their shots during the regular campaign. But again, basketball bettors are keenly aware that this team was just getting itself together during the early part of the schedule, and also made some key personnel changes that, in effect, made it more difficult for opponents to rack up points. The Warriors have found that out first hand, and King James & Co. hope to continue administering their newfound brand of defense in Game 3 of the series, which begins at 9 PM ET at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, where the Cavaliers have allowed opponents to shoot just 41.5% over their last 28 games.

Though it may sound blasphemous to NBA fans, the possibility exists that the Cavaliers may be stronger, particularly on the defensive end, without Irving in the lineup. That is because they have traded him out in favor of Matthew Dellavedova in the starting lineup, and what they have apparently said to Dellavedova is that 90% of his responsibility is in hassling Steph Curry into bad shots, and he can worry about the offensive part of his game afterward. That wouldn’t happen with Irving. Normally, Dellavedova is a pretty good outside shooter and an offensive threat. But in this particular case he is playing a role, and he is fitting into that role rather nicely.

As BetAnySports patrons witnessed on Sunday night, he was able to, with the help of teammates of course, hold the league MVP to 19 points on 5-23 shooting. Even worse, Curry made just two out of his 15 shots from three-point range, thus taking away a big part of his game. If you look at what Golden State did in Game 2, Curry and his running mate, Klay Thompson, made just six triples, a very low figure when you consider that they ranked 1-2 in the NBA this season in three-pointers made.

Golden State has shot just 29% from beyond the arc in this series thus far. That is the kind of thing Cleveland has to continue inducing if they want to win an NBA championship.
