NBA Betting – Wade Remains On Board With Heat
By Charles Jay
Dwayne Wade, one of the great shooting guards of all time and certainly headed for the Basketball Hall of Fame, was causing a lot of nervousness around the Miami area because he decided to go be free agent route. Of course, the Heat had already lost Lebron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chris Bosh had faced some uncertainty as far as his health was concerned. So NBA Betting customers at BetAnySports know that it was very important that Miami hold onto a franchise icon who had spent a dozen years with the organization.
Truth be told, Wade has been showing some wear and tear from injuries over the last couple of seasons, and Heat coach Erik’s Spoelstra has seen the need to control his minutes so that he is fresh for the playoffs. Well, the playoffs didn’t come last year, and Miami fans were sitting around wondering whether there would be a long drought if Wade left town.
Well, they need not be concerned anymore, or, more specifically, for at least another season. Wade signed a one-year deal with the team with $20 million, which allows him to opt out after next season and take advantage, perhaps, of an expansion in the salary cap that would allow him the opportunity to get another big deal.
Folks who follow the Heat closely, along with other BetAnySports patrons, or where that Wade really didn’t want to leave the team, as he is established roots in the area. He has been a part of all three world championships that Miami has won.
“For my entire NBA career, Miami has always been my city and my home,” Wade said. “I’m overwhelmed with the love and support the Miami community of consistently shown me and my family throughout the years.
With Wade now signed up, Miami wants to go about the business of returning to the post-season, and they have a pretty solid rotation with which to do it. Guard Goran Dragic has just signed a five-year, $90 million contract, and he will make a good tandem with Wade in the backcourt. Luol Deng has also opted into this final contract season, so if Bosh can come back healthy and center Hassan Whiteside continues with his progress, this will be an interesting team to watch. Of course, the consensus is that Miami got a “steal” when they were able to draft Justise Winslow of Duke with the 10th pick in the draft.
But at the same time, they know that any team that is controlled by Riley doesn’t really rely on rookies. Winslow is a guy who can be a potential star, and there is very little doubt that he is going to get some minutes. He is versatile enough to play at least two, and maybe even three different positions. And he knows how to play defense, which is going to help with his adjustment to the NBA. Winslow is currently +1700 to win the Rookie of the Year award this season.
