Jaguars vs Bears October 16th, 2016 – Week 6 NFL Betting Preview
It appears as if there are always going to be talking about “rebuilding” with the Jacksonville Jaguars. But there is no question that if they don’t keep winning, head coach Gus Bradley is not going to be part of that “project” for much longer. On Sunday, the Jaguars meet up with the Chicago Bears in a game that will begin at 1 PM ET at Soldier Field in Chicago. BetAnySports customers will have the opportunity to get reduced juice wagering on their football betting action, and then afterward they can place wagers in real time while this game is happening through the magic of Live Betting Ultra.

The Jags had the week off after traveling to London and beating back a rally by the Indianapolis Colts to triumph by a 30-27 score. That was their first victory of the season after three defeats. Chicago began their campaign, like Jacksonville, with three consecutive losses, then beat the Detroit Lions at home. But then the Colts defeated them 29-23, despite the fact that Chicago rolled up 522 yards of total offense.
Brian Hoyer has put up some good numbers for the Bears at quarterback, as he tries to erase the bitter memory of his four turnovers in last year’s playoff game against Kansas City, while he was a member of the Houston Texans. Meanwhile, Blake Bortles struggles with accuracy as quarterback with the Jaguars, and his running game has not been nearly as productive as he has wanted it to be.
Chicago had been looking to replace Matt Forte, the all-purpose back who left in free agency to the New York Jets. Jeremy Langford was supposed to inherit that role, but he got hurt, and they have had some surprisingly nice results out of rookie Jordan Howard, who has rushed for over 100 yards in consecutive weeks. Right now Howard averages 5.8 yards per carry, and that is one thing that has helped to relieve the burden, or at least some of it, from Hoyer.
The journeymen quarterback has completed 71% of his passes with six touchdowns, and he has yet to be intercepted in 140 throws. That compares very favorably to what Jay Cutler was doing. Cutler, who has an injured thumb, had two interceptions and was sacked eight times, while attempting only 46 passes in the early going.
BetAnySports customers who have followed Hoyer in his career know that while he was starting for Houston he beat Jacksonville twice, so he is not at all unfamiliar with the defensive scheme Bradley has in place. But the Jaguars had a lot of different defensive personnel, so that is certainly something to deal with. Here we have a situation where both of these teams have experienced difficulty staying on the field; Jacksonville’s third-down success rate is only 28.3%, while the Bears are slightly under 31% successful. That has improved under Hoyer, and perhaps that is what constitutes the difference in this game.
But Jacksonville must cut down on the penalties in order to be competitive. They have been flagged 41 times already this season, and against the Colts in London, their penalty yards totaled 145, which is the most for any team this season in the NFL.
For those who are truly looking for value in their sports betting experience, BetAnySports has the answer for you, with reduced juice wagering against the football betting odds, in addition to the opportunity to bet on the games while they are already in progress, which is quite a thrill.
