The Kentucky Wildcats would love to make history. They’d love to stay unbeaten and perhaps register the greatest season in the history of college basketball. Remember that you have to wade through much more in order to get through the Big Dance these days, so if they could go 40-0 over the course of the season, that would be the most incredible accomplishment. Well, they will have to beat the Wisconsin Badgers, as well is the winner between Duke and Michigan State. They will encounter Wisconsin in the second of two Final Four games scheduled for Saturday night, tipping off at 8:45 PM ET at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. When the game commences, so does live in-game betting in fast and furious fashion at BetAnySports.

Final Four Betting Does Kentucky Have a Bigger Edge This Time Around vs. Wisconsin?

Kentucky is a perfect 38-0 straight-up on the season, and they have actually managed to stay over the .500 mark against the spread, at 19-18. We say “managed” because many times sports bettors who want to back Kentucky have to pay a stiff premium. Wisconsin is 35-3 straight-up and 20-17 ATS.

It was a thriller when these teams faced off last year in the Final Four, and Wisconsin had a lead up until they were slightly less than six seconds left in the game, but Aaron Harrison, who was a freshman, nailed a three-pointer to give Kentucky 74 73 victory. The Wildcats tried only five triples in that entire game.

In the final four betting lines that have been posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, Kentucky is the favorite:

    Kentucky Wildcats -5
    Wisconsin Badgers +5

    Over 131 points -110
    Under 131 points -110

So what makes this a pretty good matchup for Kentucky? Let’s explore:

    * Even though Wisconsin is the most efficient offensive team in the country, Kentucky is the nation’s best defensive squad. That’s pretty much a “hands-down” situation. They have allowed only 53.9 points per contest on 35% shooting. And opponents really have a problem getting out to the perimeter against them, as the Wildcats have surrendered just 26.7% from three-point range. When you get inside, they are murderer as well, with 6.9 blocks per contest. They can just shut you down from anywhere. And there is no doubt that Wisconsin has not face a team as dominant defensively as this one.

    * It didn’t seem that Frank Kaminsky, who will most likely win the Wooden Award as player of the year this season, was able to run wild against Kentucky in last year’s game. He scored only eight points and pulled down five rebounds. BetAnySports customers might imagine he’s have to do a lot better in this one, but perhaps Kentucky has enough ability to take him out of his game.

    * Wisconsin plays a man-to-man defense, and that’s something that could be well suited for the Wildcats. Zone defenses have the effect of forcing Kentucky shoot from the far outside, and that is where they are least effective, but they can exploit matchup advantages with the man defense. And that is the truth whether Wisconsin sends them to the free-throw line or not.

    * This year Kentucky not only brought four very good freshman, including Karl-Anthony Towns, but they also retain some of the veterans from last year’s team, including Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson, and the Harrison twins. This collection of people gives them a lot of depth and a lot of McDonald’s all Americans.
