When Tony Romo went down with his collarbone injury in the second week of the season, there was at least some hope on the part of fans of the Dallas Cowboys that he would return at some point and help lead the team with a finishing kick that would help them get to the playoffs. Well, mathematically speaking, the Cowboys are not out of the division race just yet, but spiritually they are “toast.” That’s because Romo has re-injured his collarbone, and is lost for the season. The Cowboys now have to travel to face the Washington Redskins, a hated rival, in the Monday night game that will begin at 8:30 PM ET at FedEx Field in Landover, MD. After the opening kickoff, customers at BetAnySports can wager on the game in progress, as they challenge the football betting odds in real time through the facilities of Live Betting Extra.

In the Monday night football betting odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Redskins are the favorites at home:
- Washington Redskins -4.5
- Dallas Cowboys +4.5
- Over 42 points -110
- Under 42 points -110
It was a bummer all the way around on Thanksgiving day, is not only did Romo have to leave the game, but the Carolina Panthers wiped the floor with the Cowboys in a 33-14 beatdown. Dallas had 31 yards rushing in the game, and Romo threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. So it is again the mediocre Matt Cassel at the helm, and it is the observation of most people that Dallas better get something extra special out of its ground attack in order to compete.
That will require a much better effort than last week, naturally. And the Redskins, who allow 4.7 yards per rush attempt, would seem to be accommodating enough. But this Washington team is riding a wave of momentum right now, even though they haven’t won two games in a row yet this season. You see, with the 20-14 victory over the New York Giants last week, they are now tied for the lead in the NFC East.

When we talk about a rushing game for Dallas, the only name that is really appropriate here is Darren McFadden, the former Arkansas star who has largely underachieved as a pro. He is averaging 3.8 yards per carry, but has come up with a couple of good performances for the team. The one thing he’ll have going for him is a pretty good offensive line. What they want to avoid are situations where Cassel has to make up a lot of distance on second and third downs.
Regarding the Redskins, they have unquestionably held a true home-field advantage this season, winning five out of their six games at FedEx Field with a 4-2 point spread record. And BetAnySports patrons should be advised that Kirk Cousins generally has a hot hand at home. In fact, he completed 75% of his passes there, with only two interceptions and 11 touchdowns. Now that he has Deshaun Jackson back after a hamstring injury (he caught a 63-yard touchdown pass against the Giants last week), he’s got that big-play element. Running backs Alfred Morris and Matt Jones have averaged 3.6 yards a pop between them with only three touchdowns, but we know that there is some upside there. Getting to the .500 mark might not be all that difficult against a Dallas team that has gone 0-7 straight-up when Romo is not starting.
