49ers vs Dolphins November 27th, 2016 Week 12 NFL Betting Preview

The Dolphins have been rather fortunate to win their last couple of games. They needed an interception return by Kiko Alonso, the fourth time they picked off Philip Rivers in the fourth quarter, to beat the San Diego Chargers, and then they had to rally for two touchdowns late in the game to beat the Los Angeles Rams. In that last game, Ryan Tannehill was quiet for the most part, but came through in the clutch, leading drives of 77 and 75 yards. But the price may be high, as the Dolphins lost another offensive limeman. Laremy Tunsil, the starting left guard who had to move out to tackle to replace the injured Branden Albert, hurt his shoulder. Center Mike Pouncey was already sitting out the game, and he will certainly be out for this one as well. Albert is iffy at best. You must understand that the Dolphins built this winning streak on the health of its offensive line.

The Niners have lost nine straight games since their opening shutout win over the L.A. Rams. They have made the switch at quarterback, subbing Colin Kaepernick in for Blaine Gabbert. And the controversial Kaepernick has had his ups and downs. Last week against New England he went 16 for 30 for 206 yards. And the 49ers are definitely happy to have Carlos Hyde back in the lineup; he had 86 rushing yards last week.

Miami is alive in the wild card race, as they sit a game and a half behind Kansas City and Denver. And they have been running the football, obviously; they have been getting tremendous efforts out of Jay Ajayi, who had consecutive 200-yard games at one point, but got only 77 last week against the Rams. Ajayi and Tannehill had benefited by an offensive line that was intact, but that does not appear to be the case now.

Chip Kelly has implemented his system with the Niners, and indeed this team has gotten off its plays faster than any team in the NFL. But they have obviously not met with enough success. Hyde’s availability has been spotty, and the 3.47 yards per carry he had last week AFTER contact should give BetAnySports patrons an idea of how valuable he can be to the ground game. Kaepernick is also a ball-carrier, and that is something Miami has not had to deal with a lot from opposing quarterbacks.

They had Jared Goff to deal with last week. Now it’s a more experienced guy, and there is also a rather sizable impost to cover. The 49ers were very competitive with the Arizona Cardinals a couple of weeks ago, and they were in a three-point game against the Pats going into the final quarter last week. They believe they can get some pressure on Tannehill. who was just 3-for-7 for 16 yards under pressure against the Rams.
