The Alabama Crimson Tide has been used to being in a position to play for a national title in recent years, and this year is no exception. They are only one step away from securing their spot in the four-team college football playoffs, and all they have to do is beat the Florida Gators in a game in which they are favored by a big number. The SEC Championship contest will take place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at 4 PM ET on Saturday. After the game kicks off, BetAnySports customers can continue with their wagering as they challenge the football betting odds in real time through the magic of Live Betting Extra.

Alabama is 11-1 straight-up and 7-5 against the football pointspread. They have covered their last four games, and have also beaten the number in all five of their games away from Tuscaloosa. This is a team that looks like it is peaking down the stretch, with double-digit wins over LSU, Mississippi State and Auburn in the last four games.

Florida, on the other hand, has the look of a team that is fading at this time of year. The Gators were the talk of the college football world as they got off to a 6-0 start that included a dramatic comeback win against Tennessee and a route of Ole Miss, the only team to pin a defeat on the Crimson Tide. But the wheels have kind of come off along the way. Don’t get us wrong; Florida is still 10-2 straight-up (7-4-1 ATS), but they have no momentum coming into this game.

The Gators handed their head-coaching reins over to Jim McElwain this season, and it proved to be a very astute choice. McElwain, the former offensive coordinator for Alabama under Nick Saban, stopped off in Colorado State for his first head-coaching job and was a rousing success. He brought a new culture to Gainesville, but one thing that has plagued this team is a lack of explosive offense. And the loss of freshman quarterback Will Grier did not help. Grier, who took control of the starting QB position early on, was found to have taken banned substances, and was suspended for an entire calendar year (that is currently under appeal).

BetAnySports customers know that this left matters solely in the hands of Treon Harris, who has completed less than 54% of his passes and is all too often caught making bad decisions, or no decision at all, as he has been sacked 20 times in the last six games. Antonio Callaway provides something of a big play element on the outside (19.2 yards per catch) and DeMarcus Robinson has been reinstated after one-game suspension. Florida will need a game from Kelvin Taylor that is at least as good as he produced last week, when he had 136 yards against Florida State in a 27-2 loss.

Alabama does not figure to be a team Florida is going to roll up yardage against. The Tide has allowed slightly less than 50% pass completions, its best figure since 2011, and with 79 rushing yards yielded per game, they are best in the nation in that category. Only one team all season has averaged better than 3.4 yards per carry against them. Needless to say, the Gators have an uphill battle if they want to stay within this number.
