The St. Louis Rams suffered a painful loss last week, but on the whole, they are not deterred. They have picked up a little swagger since putting running back Todd Gurley into the lineup, and now they look to go back over the .500 mark as they play host to the Chicago Bears in the Sunday game that starts at 1 PM ET at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. Even after the opening kickoff, BetAnySports customers will have the opportunity to place wagers on this game as the action is in progress, using the state-of-the-art software available through Live Betting Extra.

The Bears are coming off the Monday night game, in which they stage a comeback to beat the San Diego Chargers 22-19. In that game, they had to get some help from rookie running back Jeremy Langford, who ran for 72 yards and a touchdown. Langford was filling in for Matt Forte, the dual-threat running back who might have to miss another game this week after sitting out the San Diego game with a knee injury.

The Rams have not gotten consistent quarterback play from Nick Foles, but with Gurley in the lineup, they certainly are threat to control any game on the ground. Gurley has averaged 5.6 yards per carry and has 664 yards on the season, despite sitting out the early portion of the year.

Gurley was considered to have an off day last week when he had “only” 89 rushing yards. Of course, if that average held he’d be up among the league rushing leaders, and there is very little question if he stays healthy the rest of the season he will be right there near the top. Foles is a different story; you strums only seven touchdown passes and been intercepted five times, and generally speaking, it looks like the Rams got the worst of that trade where he came from Philadelphia in exchange for Sam Bradford.

Luckily for the Rams, Chicago is a team that has had difficulty keeping opponents’ ground attacks in check. They have allowed 4.6 yards per attempt, and that just doesn’t work if you are looking to be a contender.

BetAnySports patrons may want to take note that the Rams have converted only 23.8% of their third-down situations; that is actually the worst percentage since 1970, and to address that, they had signed one of the better third-down receivers in recent years. Wes Welker is a guy who had consistently caught over 100 passes a season, but he has been fortunate in his career in that he has worked with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Working with Foles is quite obviously a different kettle of fish.

Jay Cutler, meanwhile, has been progressing well in Adam Gase’s offense. If you follow the NFL closely, you know that Cutler seems to work with a different offensive coordinator every season, and this year is no exception. But he has gone through seven games in been sacked only 10 times, and completed 63% of his throws. He has now had over 200 yards in five consecutive games. In contrast to what the Rams have done, Chicago converts nearly 44% on third down, but the Rams’ defense has limited the opposition to just 32.7% conversions.
