Well, the Green Bay Packers got a nice call in their favor last weekend, and earned themselves advancement to the NFC Championship game. And so they get a date with the Seattle Seahawks, who believe they are playing about as well as they did when they swept to a Super Bowl title last season. The winner gets to go to Arizona foe a shot at the big prize, and football betting action begins at 3:05 PM ET at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

The Packers were able to overcome a calf injury to quarterback Aaron Rodgers that had severely limited his mobility, but didn’t prevent him from throwing for 316 yards and extend his mark at home to 28 touchdown passes without an interception. But this week he will have to deal with a decidedly more aggressive defensive unit, as Seattle has been stifling opponents down the stretch.

Both the Packers are Seahawks are 13-4 straight-up. While Green Bay is just 8-8-1 against the football pointspread, Seattle is more profitable at 11-6 ATS.

In the football betting odds that have been placed on the NFC title game by the people at BetAnySports, the Seahawks are favored by a touchdown:

    Seattle Seahawks -7 (-120)
    Green Bay Packers +7 (+100)

    Over 46.5 points -110
    Under 46.5 points -110

Green Bay might not have even gotten to this spot in the first place had it not been for an official’s call on a pass that Dallas’ Dez Bryant appeared to have caught at the one-yard line, but was not in possession of, according to the rule. But credit the Pack for coming back in the second half, as Rodgers had 226 yards. And his offensive line is due for a lot of kudos as well; despite the fact that he could not move around the way he is used to, he only suffered one sack, which brings his total to only ten in the last nine games. He will need that kind of protection against Seattle, which only had 37 sacks in the regular season, but is clearly capable of exerting a lot of pressure.

BetAnySports customers know that the Seahawks can get a lot of “coverage sacks,” as they have a secondary that might be the best in the NFL. Richard Sherman’s reputation, of course, is known far and wide, but the ‘Hawks also have an unparalleled pair of safeties in Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. This will undoubtedly be a gargantuan task for the Green Bay passing game.

And if you need further evidence, these teams met up in the opening week of the season. The Packers avoided Sherman as much as they could, and Rodgers had only 189 yards on 33 attempts. Seattle limited Green Bay to just 4.5 yards per play in the 36-16 victory, and they are playing defense like that now, as they have allowed 56 points over the last seven games. Of course, those who like the price on Green Bay at BetAnySports might argue that the Packers are a different team right now, as they have developed a very attractive third receiver option in Davante Adams (117 yards vs. Dallas with a 46-yard TD) and are capable of getting more out of Eddie Lacy, who had to leave the first meeting in the fourth quarter with a concussion.

The Packers may have a load of trouble here dealing with the very mobile Russell Wilson, who had 849 yards rushing this year and is 25-2 straight-up at home in his Seahawk career. And Seattle has been a second-half team to say the least; during their current seven-game winning streak they have outscored opponents 102-20 over the final 30 minutes.
